Here’s a link to an obit by his friend, the retired Spanish Ambassador Jorge Dezcallar. He recalls the dinners that Nagy hosted at his loft on 9th Avenue near the meat market – a neighborhood, he says, where one had to look around the street a couple of times before getting out of the car.
It appears that most recently Nagy had been setting a new production of La Sylphide on the Hungarian National Ballet which is scheduled to be performed during the first week of May.

Another former teacher gone. Sad, but it’s life. I will miss him.

Ivan Nagy was an unforgettable, great romantic stage presence for all of us who were so fortunate to see him.
