Nutcrackers in your own livingroom

A round of applause for OvationTV which kicks off its annual Battle of the Nutcrackers this Monday.  This is a huge undertaking by the ambitious cable network that champions the beloved art that all the other channels seem to want to forget about.

This year’s "battle" includes 14 airings of The Royal Ballet’s production choreographed by Peter Wright with Alina Cojocaru; 14 airings of the Bolshoi Ballet’s production choreographed by Yuri Grigorovich with Irek Mukhamedov; 15 airings of the Berlin State Opera’s production choreographed by Patrice Bart; 17 airings of the Casse Noisette Circus: Ballet of Monte Carlo; and 14 airings of Maurice Bejart’s production danced by the Bejart Ballet Lausanne that features accordion music performed on stage.  Wunnerful, wunnerful

OvationTV wants you to VOTE for your favorite of the five Nutcrackers at their website.  Then, they will announce the winner on Christmas Eve.  Of course, we are the winners.  Thanks, OvationTV!
