Nobody should stay home tomorrow night

… that is, if you are in or around Manhattan. There are too many fabulous ballet choices and not enough Apple Quantum iCycles for everyone to be in three places at the same time. Uh-oh, did Haglund just leak the newest A-Rex Applegagesaurus? It's going to be very big but please fuggetaboutit. The thing will have a long beta test period. Right now the space gray handlebar streamers seem to engage in unprovoked slapping of the rider's hands, and the blue sport pedals grab at shoelaces. It's going to be a while before you see this thing on Main Street.

Tomorrow night grab your Metrocard and get to one of these places for an evening of big entertainment:

NYCB for Taylor Stanley and Abi Stafford in Square Dance and the penultimate performance of This Bitter Earth with Wendy Whelan and Tiler Angle;

Lar Lubovitich Dance Company at the Joyce Theater where Alessandra Ferri is guesting;

To Union Square, or 42nd Street Imax, or Kips Bay Imax to see a delayed live cinema cast of the Royal Ballet's Manon starring Marianela Nunez and Frederico Bonelli

    If I didn’t have to work tomorrow night, I would definitely choose Lar Lubovitch in order to see Alessandra Ferri. She wouldn’t even have to dance. Watching her walk to the theater would be pleasure enough. I’m so glad she’s back in the ring!

    Manon for me, not exactly so much for the leads as for the ridiculous story and interesting choreography.
    Btw does anyone know why Chase Finlay isn’t dancing at NYCB this Fall? Is he injured?

    I saw Chase in Duo Concertant, Morgan, Interplay, and Apollo – he danced well in all – but I missed him in Mozartiana. He doesn’t seem to be scheduled this week.

    And for me tonight in L.A., it’s Manon, all the more to see Marianela Nunez. We had the Australian Ballet in town last weekend, which is a terrific company. Thanks for all your enthusiastic reports on NYCB!

    hi Haglund, not sure how to link it here but was wondering if you saw the 2015 Met casting for ABT that was released today? Any thoughts? After a quick scan I picked out a couple Sleeping Beauties for Sarah Lane and a couple Cinderellas for Stella.

    Good news, Sarah gets two Auroras in Spring season! Bad news, Kochetkova and Smirnova back as guest principals. No Cojocaru. Stella gets to dance Cinderella!!

    Copeland dancing Juliet though, the thought of this lyrical-lacking dancer tackling Prokofiev score and balcony scene fills me with disgust. Nothing but a ploy to promote her to principal.

    Having had the privilege of seeing Nela dance a couple of times a year (for many years) at the Royal Opera House, I am thrilled that she is coming to NYC. She’s wonderful as Cinderalla, too.
