James Fayette, the former NYCB dancer, current AGMA rep, and husband of NYCB's Jenifer Ringer, was seriously injured today when a crazed homeless man stabbed him with sissors while Fayette was pushing his son in a stroller along a normally peaceful and safe path in Riverside Park on the West Side of Manhattan. Fayette and Ringer's son suffered a stab wound in the arm, and several others along the path were stabbed, too.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the victims for a speedy recovery.
While there are many wonderful things about living in New York City, it is a place where one has a higher risk of being a victim of random violence than in most cities. Still, it is such a shock when something like this happens.

My prayers go out to him. I’ve seen Jenifer here and there on the UWS – she is such a beautiful lady.
I often take walks by myself in this area. Although I try not to be paranoid, I am always on guard.

PS – Haglund, from this news item, it appears that James and another man were heroes. James got stabbed because he and the other guy went to a woman’s aid. The other guy didn’t get stabbed because he had dogs.
