Angel Corella will present his first choreographic effort during the Corella Ballet Castilla y Leon's performances at NY City Center beginning March 17th. Haglund was curious about the music which inspired Corella to create String Sextet. So, he fished out two YouTube clips of Tchaikovsky's Souvenir de Florence. Within seconds, the ear picks up the sunny vivacity and intense energy that have always characterized Corella's own performances. The second clip, in particular, has the emotional peaks and valleys and forceful conclusion that are marks of his dancing. One can nearly see his hair flying.
