Haglund appreciates the little flurry of visitors from the Department of State,
Department of Defense, and FDA who are scouring his ABT reviews
presumably in connection with ticket purchase decision making; but
people – really – don't you have something better to do with your taxpayer-funded time?
A couple of cast changes to the Washington DC run worth noting. Lovely Leann Underwood has been added to the Brahms Haydn Variations cast for the second evening replacing Michelle Wiles. The especially lovely Stella Abrera is now listed with Max Beloserkovsky in Birthday Offering replacing Irina Dvorovenko. No doubt Irina has her talented hands full trying to whip her way-in-over-his-head partner into shape for the Saturday matinee Romeo and Juliet. Good luck there.

I am thrilled for Stella. She will be wonderful in this Ashton ballet. I wish ABT would list the other ballerinas in this ballet. In the 1st ABT performance of this ballet, the ballerinas were either principals or soloist.

Hi Jose.
Stella will indeed be fantastic in Birthday Offering – and what a good idea to match her up with Beloserkovsky. Haglund was thinking how Max might just be a very good choice for Stella’s first Siegfried – if we ever get to that point. They physically compliment one another. He’s an extremely capable partner and has all the experience that a 1st time Odette/Odile could ask for. And his understated approach would look more balanced against Stella than it does with Irina.
With regard to the rest of the Birthday Offering cast, Haglund observed that Daniil Simkin said he was performing in it on Wednesday night as well. Also a good sign considering who he generally dances with – Lane, Riccetto, Kajiya.
