Bolshoi in Cinema Nutcracker

is not showing this Sunday in the customary Manhattan cinemas on 42nd St and Union Square. It is showing at the Kew Gardens Cinema on Sunday and at the Cinemas 1,2 & 3  (1001 Third Avenue) on Tuesday, December 22nd.

The cinemacast seems to be showing in many other places throughout the country on Sunday, except New York. Bummer.

Check for your local cinemas here.

The theater in Raleigh NC that shows the Bolshoi series recently dropped the Nutcracker. Need to travel 1+ hours south to Pinehurst. Since the Carolina Ballet is running Nutcracker performances – their biggest money maker of the year – I wouldn’t be surprised if they asked that the Bolshoi not be shown in town so as to drive CB ticket sales.

Hi, Andrea. That’s too bad. I think part of the reluctance by some cinemas to show this performance might be due to the fact it is a repeat of last year’s broadcast.
