Here is NYCB's promo vid for Justin Peck's new ballet based on Hans Christian Andersen's The Most Incredible Thing which premieres on Groundhog Day. Very slick and enticing marketing effort. Our fingers are crossed for this overall project and that Phil doesn't deliver a long winter. Also on the program is Christopher Wheeldon's very enjoyable and highly creative Estancia.

That cuckoo costume is not doing Tiler Peck any favors. 🙁

I like both tutus but the dark wig doesn’t enhance Sterling or her costume. It simply screams “I’m copying, I mean, quoting/honoring the gimmick of some other choreographer who did it first.” The fad of classically shaped tutus without tights continues ad nauseam.

Well, this has my attention! Will be interesting to see if the actual ballet can live up to the high bar this teaser has set for storytelling.

Well, the La Sylphide certainly lived up to its video teaser. Fingers crossed for this one.
