In a few hours, life will get immeasurably worse – if you are Gregor Samsa.
The Royal Ballet will stream on its website the acclaimed Arthur Pita choreographed production of Franz Kafka's The Metamorphosis starring Edward Watson. We saw this at the Joyce Theater about seven years ago and were gobsmacked by its brilliance. This theatrical performance will stick in your mind like molasses under the fingernails. Trust us.
7:00pm BST (2:00pm EDT) on the Royal Ballet's website.

I just got done watching Cranko’s Romeo and Juliet on Stuttgart’s website. I believe it is up until Sunday, so you still have time to catch it if you are interested.

Thanks, Ellen!
Metamorphosis was riveting! What a job by all, especially Edward Watson.

Haglund,
If there were an Olivier for Public Service in Dance, I’d get you one. Thank you so much for clueing us into The Metamorphosis; I was enthralled and could not look away.

Thank you, Ellen. I think the film did a good job of approximating the thrill & chill of the stage production. Some time after seeing it at the Joyce Theater, I found myself going up an elevator with Edward Watson. My mind started to conflate Gregor Samsa and Crown Prince Rudolf and I sensed a panic attack in the making along with the absolute thrill of being in the elevator with this incredible artist.
