Haglund was visiting the website of LakeCities Ballet Theatre, a regional company with a highly-acclaimed conservatory in the northern Texas city of Lewisville, because he had read that Julie Kent and Sascha Radetsky were performing in the company’s Nutcracker this weekend. This past year Sarah Lane performed her first Giselle with the company – a performance that we in New York are probably years away from experiencing.
While cruising around the website, Haglund happened upon photos of the Giselle production. These photos strongly suggest that when she’s finally given the opportunity to perform this in New York, Sarah Lane will break our hearts like we never expected.
The individual performance photos in the website’s gallery are uncredited although the home page of the website indicates “Candid photography by Nancy Loch” (Assistant Director and mother of Steven Loch – Sarah’s Albrecht and a familiar face on the YAGP circuit, who left for PNB‘s professional division last fall) and “Portrait photos by Steve Skaggs.” We are eternally grateful to the talented photographer who captured these treasured moments and to LBT for giving Sarah this opportunity:
New York deserves to see Sarah's Giselle (and Stella's ! ) without further delay.

Thank-you so much for posting this. Yes, the talented photographer is Nancy Loch. Her dance experience has made her an outstanding dance photographer and we are fortunate to be associated with her! Our company was introduced to Ms. Lane by Julie Kent, a long-time friend and guest artist with our company. Ms. Kent staged the ballet for us last Spring when she was expecting her daughter and it was an amazing opportunity for my dancers and for our former student, Steven Loch. Sarah Lane was exquisite and a true professional with the kindest heart to work with an up and coming student. I will also look forward to her debut as Giselle in New York as well! She was born to do this role!

I was there! Sarah’s Giselle was deeply artistic and technically gorgeous… the likes of which I have not seen since Gelsey’s early years.
Haglund,
Thank you for posting this with all those beautiful pictures.

Hi SZ!
The reader-interest in Sarah’s Giselle was off the charts. The only posts which ever garnered greater interest were those about Roberto Bolle’s ABT performances.
We’re confident that Sarah’s Giselle and Juliet developments are seriously underway at ABT. Let’s just hope they can be scheduled during our lives. Imagine the potential Albrechts and Romeos who are dreaming about the chance to be part of those debuts!
