ABT – Nutcracker @ BAM

Tickets for ABT's The Nutcracker go on sale Monday, September 12th at BAM for performances December 14 through December 31.  The only principal casting released thus far is for the opening night performance which will be Veronika Part and Marcelo Gomes.

If ABT was able to release the principal cast for its premiere of The Firebird out in Orange County, CA next March, then it sure as heck should be able to release the principal casting for City Center, Nutcracker (DC & NYC), La Bayadere in DC in January, and Giselle in Chicago in March.  Tickets for these performances are or will shortly be on sale.  What's the point of withholding the information from the ticket buyers?  Oh, wait, maybe ABT isn't done lining up all of the guest artists as part of the company's Barnum & Bailey Initiative.  Maybe they're trying to sign Chaz Bono to dance with Osipova for our enjoyment.  It could happen.  Really.

Still waiting for those promotions for the deserving soloists.  Honestly, ABT must love wallowing around in the Public Relations Sewer.

Hi Haglund, I just went to the ABT web site and they don’t even have the casting up for opening night yet. What is wrong with these people? They make it awfully difficult to be loyal, faithful, and true.

Yes, they do make it difficult, and it is costing them audience and money.

It certainly may cost them MY money because I’m not buying tickets until I know the casting. And if I can’t get good seats by the time they release the casting, I’m not going. Period. I’m too old to look through binoculars, and they never fit my face anyway.

Hopefully with 22 performances a lot of soloists get some big stage time.

LOL, we were counting at the same time! To the 22 at BAM in Brooklyn, add 7 performances in DC Dec. 8-11 and you have a total of 29 performances! My fingers are crossed for the soloists – especially the senior soloists.
