Once the cat is accustomed to eating junk food like Fancy Feast or Friskies with their grain fillers and animal by-products (ears, tumors, etc.), the cat will nearly starve himself before agreeing to a change to Natural Balance, Spot's Stew, Wellness or any of the brands that represent a healthy lifestyle for the kitty.
A person accustomed to gorging himself at McDonald's, Burger King, or KFC will likely interpret a change to fresh fruits and vegetables as life threatening not to mention distasteful.
An audience that is regularly served up a steady diet of gymnastics and gross athletic tricks and told that it is ballet will come to desire and expect to be served exactly that whenever attending a ballet performance.
Cats and people often resist what is good for them. There is a never-ending supply of junk food peddlers who try to steer buyers toward their products with glitzy advertising gimmicks and coupons. "Cats love the taste!" "Our Angus Burger only has 790 calories, 39 grams of fat, and 2070 mg of sodium – Eat Two for the price of One and kids eat FREE!"
The problem is that the cat, the person, and the art form will all die prematurely if they maintain a diet of junk food.

Amen to that.
Amen to that.
How true. I’ve introduced friends to ballet and all they seem to crave are crass extensions galore done by dancers such as Semionova or early Somova, and athletic tricks that are the calling card of un-balletic dancers like Osipova and Vasiliev. But once I have explained to them about what is ballet and what isn’t, they are starting to come around.
