Kikta is going Kholeric in The Four Temperaments during Week 4?! We can't imagine her as a krank — or maybe we're just afraid to…uh-huh.
NYCB is certainly delivering on the casting in the Balanchine programs. The fourth week 4-T casting is more than just fresh paint on the walls. It's a Hillary Farr gut-renovation. Walls have been torn down, and the casting ceiling at NYCB has been opened up to the sky.
How exciting it will be to see Emily Kikta and Mira Nadon share the role of Choleric! And Ashley Hod and Isabella LaFreniere were born to dance the Sanguinic role. Peter Walker and Gilbert Bolden as their debuting partners will be perfect. Also great to see that corpsmen Jonathan Fahoury and Samuel Melnikov will be featured in the Theme section partnering debuting Jacqueline Bologna and Claire Kretzschmar.
These are just a few of the big opportunities being seized by deserving dancers in 4-Ts. Pulling so many dancers who were strong corps dancers from their former 4-T slots is sure to shake up the corps as well.
We're loving the idea of seeing the Black Swan PdD with Mira Nadon & Chun Wai Chan and the tongue-twisting duo Phelan-Furlan in Tschaikovsky PdD.
A fabulous fourth week ahead as the the company's Balanchine life blood grows hotter and hotter. We hope we've given Gia enough notes.

I have no information on Ashley Bouder’s absence other than I know she suffered some type of injury at the end of the fall season.
It’s hard to say why any dancer has not been promoted. There are so many factors that play into those decisions that we, as fans, are never privy to. Megan is a gorgeous dancer and truly excels in the black & white repertory. I look forward to seeing her in 4Ts very soon.

Rachel, I agree. I saw Chan in Swan Lake at Houston Ballet with Yuriko Kajiya a few years back. Wonderful.

I believe both Bouder and Fairchild are injured. Fairchild posted on her IG just yesterday that she reinjured a previously herniated disc between the physical demands of ballet and young infant twins.
Hopefully they both heal well, but I’m happy to see some new faces in some roles!!

Truthfully, I have not missed Bouder. I think it’s beyond time to see some fresher faces in her roles. Nadon’s Odile is sure to be gorgeous!
