After having pulled Alina Cojocaru from her May 28th and 29th performances of Symphony in C due to her ongoing injury, the Royal Ballet has today announced that it is pulling her from her June 8th performance. Really? She's unable to perform the 2nd Movement Adagio and a short coda, but she's going to dance four acts of Swan Lake here less than two weeks later? Are we supposed to have sympathy for her when she limps around and dumbs down the steps with perfectly upturned eyebrows while our own brilliant and capable Sarah Lane sits on the sidelines waiting for a chance to dance?
Jeeze Louise. Could it get any more pathetic at ABT?

I kind of only half-kidding want to flyer-“bomb” the MET parking lot with flyers that say “LET SARAH LANE DANCE SWAN LAKE!” “Promote Stella! Promote Arron!” and “Let NYC see Yuriko’s glorious Giselle!”

ABT has created so much ill will among the core audience and has lost so much support over this. It’s just amazing how it can go on and on and on.

Is there ever a time when Cojocaru isn’t injured?

Eh, they’ll just lace her up in cinder blocks and she’ll be fine.

The RB still has her listed for a June 5 Mayerling with Kobborg. How curious that she will be able to dance that, but all the people who bought tickets to see her in Symphony in C are out of luck because she’s still injured and unable to dance.
If she shows up here for Swan Lake, it will clearly look like she dumped her Royal Ballet performances in order save herself for a guest artist stint. What a way to treat the hometown London fans.
Let Sarah Lane dance, for Pete’s sake.
