This is great news, Haglund. Only thing is that when I googled “Village East Cinema,” one of the “suggestions” that came up was “village east cinema bed bugs,” which gave me, in addition to a chilling frisson, many links, although I didn’t investigate further to see how current they were or whether people actually SAW bedbugs there. Perhaps the Village East people can make sure that an epidemic of bed bugs doesn’t sweep through the balletomane community who will flock there to see Lost Illusions.

To prevent bringing bed bugs home with you, try this natural remedy, not foolproof but works pretty well nonetheless. Go get some undiluted, 100% pure, essential lavender oil, I recommend Now Foods brand of lavender oil, it’s widely available and costs between $6-$9 depending on where you buy it. A combination of eucalyptus oil and lavender oil works even better. Bed bugs hate the smell of lavender so they would rather get hitched onto someone else than you with lavender scent if they could help it. Just soak a couple of cotton balls in the oil and put one inside handbag or wallet or even your pockets. It won’t kill bed bugs but will repulse them hopefully enough to leave you alone for short time you are there.

I travel quite often and bed bugs are a nuisance even at 5 star hotels. It does make sense that those critters would feel right at home in dark theaters and the seats there.

That theater is going to reek with the overwhelming aroma of Provence on steroids.
